I was thinking about the many words that I read and know about color. I put together some of them to remember their meaning for future reference:

HUE: This is just another word for color

COLOR WHEEL: A  chart that organices colors/hues around a circle. It shows the relationships between primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors etc.

PRIMARY COLORS: Colors that can be combined to make a useful range of other colors. For human applications, three primary colors are typically used, since human color vision is usually trichromatic.

The primary colors normally used are red, yellow, and blue.Traditional Color Wheel Rueda Cromatica Modern primary colors are magenta, yellow, and cyan.Modern Color Wheel Círculo Cromático

SECONDARY COLORS: Created from the combination of any two primary colors.

If using Red, Yellow and Blue (RGB model) as primaries, then mixing red and blue will produce purple, yellow and red orange and yellow and blue will make green.

If using the CMYK model, mixing yellow and cyan produces green colors; mixing yellow with magenta produces reds, and mixing magenta with cyan produces blues.

TERTIARY COLORS: Are produced by mixing primary and secondary colors: red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange, red-orange.

COMPLEMENTARY COLORS: Oposite colors to each other on the color wheel

ANALOGOUS COLORS: Colors that are next to one another on the color wheel

COOL COLORS: Colors on the blue/purple side.

WARM COLORS: Colors on the yellow/orange side.
