I love art but I think I loved color first. I remember when I was a child, the things that really called my attention where the many colors of the magic markers from the store.

I also liked the beginning of the school year. I had new notebooks, pens and pencils. I love to see the notebooks wrapped in bright color papers, all ready for my classes. I enjoyed the simple pleasures of sharpening my colored pencils and making sure I have all the class materials for the next day.

My love for color hasn’t diminished at all. I have to recognize that it has increased with time. When my children were small, I couldn’t afford to buy expensive paints and I was happy getting craft paints and just painting with them anything that I could find: papers, plates, glasses, whatever it was available.

Now, I can afford more professional paints but still like to challenge myself using the cheaper paints. I also enjoy the more expensive paints and the experience of opening a tub with buttery paint inside. I can almost taste the flavor of the rich colors.

I enjoy to mix colors and experiment with textures also. My joy of applying hues to the canvas is more than physical, it elevates me to higher places or maybe it allows me to be more in contact with my soul. This blog will collect my thoughts about my painting experiences and the great love that I have for color.

I thank God for this opportunity and also my dear friend and husband who encourages and support my adventures in the rainbow.
